FG Hosts Super Falcons At The Villa

The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on Monday hosted three members of the Nigerian female football team, the Super Falcons, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The First Lady treated the three available players of the Super Falcons and their officials to a state reception at the State House. In attendance were team captain, Onome Ebi, midfield lynchpin Christy Ucheibe and goalkeeper, Tochukwu Oluehi and a number of technical and administrative officials such as the NFF president, Ibrahim Gusau, NFF 1st Vice President, Anyansi-Agwu and the General Secretary, Sanusi Mohammed.

The First Lady, who held a similar meeting with the victorious Nigeria female basketball team, D’Tigresses, past Monday, has since been encouraging Nigerian female sports personalities by urging them on and holding meetings like this.

She hailed the Super Falcons performance at the biggest stage possible, saying their hard work,focus and determination were seen and appreciated y Nigerians at home and diaspora.

Unbeaten in regulation time in all four matches they played at the World Cup, the Super Falcons exited the tournament after a penalty shootout defeat to England ah the Round of 16 on Monday lat week.
