Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Napoli forward Victor Osimhen continue to get support for the 2023 African Player of the Year award.
The Nigerian international made all the headlines in the Italian Serie A last season scoring over 30 goals in all competitions for the Nerazzurri.
Ex-players and football stakeholders have continued to canvass for the lanky Nigeria attacker to be named African best player for 2023.
The latest to back Osimhen is Ghana’s legendary forward Asamoah Gyan, the bulky former Black Stars attacker believes Osimhen has done enough to deserve the award.
“For me, he deserves it. As a striker and seeing what he is doing, for the first time in over 30 years, winning the league with Napoli. He deserves it”, he said.
Osimhen is set to lead the line again for Napoli as the Serie A set to commence this weekend.
