If not for the timely intervention of FIBA Africa, the Malian Basketball team would have been walkover by Senegal in their final group game.
Mali set up a mouth-watering clash against Senegal after edging out Nigeria’s D’Tigers in their opening game.
Senegal had earlier in the competition defeated the host and will have to overcome their neighbours to confirm their superiority in the group.
The final group game was fixed for Thursday but the Malian national team was stranded in their team hotel due to unpaid bills.
The Africa Basketball body has to intervene before the hotel officials allow them to pick their kits for the game.
