Head coach of the Amavubi of Rwanda Frank Spittler Torsten has voiced his concern over the inclusion of foreign players in the league.
The Rwanda Football Federation last year lifted the suspension placed on the acquisition of foreign players in the league.
After the suspension, APR one of the biggest teams in the league signed many foreign including Nigerian forward Victor Mbaoma.
The presence of Mbaoma has denied one of the Amavubi top strikers Gilbert Mugisha playing time.
FERWAFA decided to raise the cap on foreign players allowed in the league from five to six, with plans underway to potentially increase this number to eight on the field and 12 in the team roster.
“The rule allowing an increased number of foreign players on the field doesn’t sit well with me”, he said.
Mbaoma has scored more than 15 goals for APR in all competitions this season.
