Liverpool’s star, Mohamed Salah, has been featured on the new cover for GQ first issue of the year as the Egyptian King kicks off his AFCON campaign.

Styled out in designer wear from Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Hermes, the 29-year-old reflects on his career so far and his journey to becoming one of the best ballers on the planet.

This season Salah has been remarkable, scoring 19 goals and assisting nine in just 20 games, putting him on track to break his own record.

In talks with Oliver Franklin-Wallis, Salah said: “If you asked me if this was a drive for me to be here? Yeah, of course. I can’t really lie and say honestly I didn’t think about it.
“I want to be the best player in the world. But I will have a good life even if I don’t win the Ballon d’Or. My life is OK, everything is fine.”

Winning three titles including the Premier League in the 2019-20 season, Salah reiterated that his future is in the club’s hands and is not asking for ‘crazy stuff’.
He said: “The thing is when you ask for something and they show you they can give you something because they appreciate what you did for the club.”

“I’ve been here for my fifth year now. I know the club very well. I love the fans. The fans love me. But with the administration, they have [been] told the situation. It’s in their hands.”

The Egyptian scored more Premier League goals than any African player in history, reaching 100 goals faster than any other Liverpool player. Despite this, he has never broken into the top three for the Ballon d’Or, football’s most esteemed individual prize.
Many fans were shocked that Salah only finished seventh in the voting for last year’s award, which was won by Paris Saint-Germain’s Messi.

Described as the ‘best player in the world’ by Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, Salah stated: “I’m sure a lot of people appreciate what I’m doing. “I don’t really care about it. Weak mentalities like to feel that. I don’t.”
