Ahead of the inaugural edition of the Women CAF Champions League qualifiers in Cote d’ivoire, Rivers Angels forward Ezenagu Maryann has remained optimistic about their qualification from the group.

The WAFU B qualifiers grouping was conducted on Monday and the Nigeria champion were drawn in relatively tough group including Hassacass of Ghana and AS Police of Niger Republic.

Ezenagu while reacting to the draw maintained that despite not knowing about the Ghanaian side they can still beat them to the top position in the group.

“I think we’ve had enough preparations and friendly matches with both the male and female teams.

“With the little preprtions and friendly matches we had, I believe we can scale through.”

“As it concerns Africa, Nigeria is the strongest team and Rivers Angels is one of the best team you can see around.

“When we get to Ivory coast I believe we can top the group ahead of Hassacass Ladies of Ghana because Nigeria is the giant of Africa.

“Although we’ve not seen them play and they’ve not seen us too but I believe we can beat them,” she said.
