After securing a win in their opening game against the Republic of Ireland, host Australia has landed in Brisbane the venue of their second match.

The Matildas on Thursday defeated debutant Ireland by a lone goal to stay top of the table after the first round of games in group B.

They landed in Brisbane on Friday afternoon and have commenced preparations for the second match against Nigeria’s Super Falcons.

The 9-time African champions proved all the bookmakers wrong in the early hours of Friday by holding the Olympic Games champions Canada to a goalless in Melbourne.

Nigeria is also expected to arrive in Brisbane on Saturday for the game slated for Thursday next week.
