Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen will likely have a release clause in his new Napoli contract, but the club and the striker’s agent Roberto Calenda have still not agreed on the fee.

The Nigeria international wants to remain at the Stadio Maradona and is willing to sign a contract extension beyond 2025.

His agent Calenda arrived at Dimaro two days ago to continue talks with President Aurelio De Laurentiis.

As things stand, there is still no agreement over the striker’s salary and potential release clause which the agent wants to include in the new deal for his client.

Friday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport claims Calenda wants to set the clause at €90m, which is clearly not high enough for the Partenopei.

As per Il Corriere dello Sport, the worth of the potential new clause will be at least €100m, but ADL is trying to raise it to nearly €200m which is the asking price for Osimhen this summer.

The striker’s current deal expires in June 2025 and of course, he can continue at Napoli also if he doesn’t sign a new deal. However, this would make the club more vulnerable next season when Osimhen will have just one year left in his contract.
