FG To Host Super Falcons At Aso Villa On Monday

The Federal Government of Nigeria as concluded plans for the hosting of the country’s senior women’s national team at the Aso Villa on Monday.

The Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu is set to host the the Super Falcons following their exploits at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

The wife of the country’s president had been scheduled to bid the Super Falcons farewell for the 32-national tournament earlier in July in Abuja but missed the opportunity due to administrative reasons.

However, Senator Tinubu will seek to make up for her earlier missed opportunity on Monday when she is expected to host the gallant Super Falcons players at Aso Villa – Government House in Abuja.

The ocassion arranged by the First Lady is aimed at appreciating the wonderful display of skills, artistry, and determination of the players at the tournament Down Under, where they reached the Round of 16.

Earlier, the First Lady had hosted the national women’s basketball team after their triumph at the FIBA Afrobasket.

According to NigeriaFootball, the office of the First Lady has facilitated the trips of already decamped players to Abuja on Sunday morning following their return from the global showpiece through Lagos last week.

Players expected to be in attendance are those yet to return to their various clubs in Europe ahead of the new season.

The nine-time African champions fought like Trojans against European champions, England, and bowed out of the tournament only on penalty shootout in the Round of 16.

Despite their unfornate elimination, Randy Waldrum’s side set enviable records at the tournament and created more goal-scoring chances against the Lionesses in the Round of 16, the most the European champions.

Waldrum’s side also became the first African team to keep three clean sheets at the World Cup To cap it up, the team didn’t lose any of their three group games which was another major milestone – strong performances which earned positive reviews and huge praise from football-loving fans across the globe
