The camp of the Super Falcons of Nigeria’s opponents, Canada, was thrown into a sad mood late on Saturday evening as their top defender was forced to withdraw from the tournament.

Canada is considered one of the favourites winners for the competition as they are the current Olympic champions.

They are already in Australia in closed camp getting ready for the opening group game against Nigeria’s Super Falcons.

The country medics on Saturday announced that defender Jade Rose has been forced to withdraw from the team due to injury.

” Jade Rose has been forced to withdraw from camp and World Cup selection due to injury”, the medics confirmed.

Rose’s absence will be greatly felt as she is a great influence on the team.
